Toner is the most misunderstood step in skincare. For decades, toners were astringent, alcohol-loaded liquids that stripped your skin in the name of "clean." Today's toners — like this one — do the exact opposite. Here's the modern, barrier-respecting way it works.

1. Gentle Surface Exfoliation (Why PHA)

3% Gluconolactone (PHA) has a much larger molecular size than AHAs like glycolic acid or BHAs like salicylic acid. Because of this, it works only on the topmost layer of dead skin cells, dissolving them slowly and gently. The result: smoother texture, brighter tone and minimizing pores — without the irritation, photosensitivity or barrier disruption that stronger acids can sometimes cause.

2. pH Rebalancing After Cleansing

Healthy skin sits at a slightly acidic pH (around 4.5–5.5), which is the sweet spot for its protective barrier. Even the gentlest cleanser temporarily shifts that pH upward. This toner's pH (5.25–5.64) gently nudges your skin back to its happy place — so the rest of your routine works exactly as it should.

Dispense: Spray 6-7 times all over your face and wipe off using a clean cotton pad.
Repeat : Continue doing this till the cotton pad does not come out squeaky clean.

Why we made this toner

I'd grown up watching family members use harsh, alcohol-loaded astringents that made the skin sting on contact — and then I watched a generation of glycolic toners do almost the same thing, just with a fancy label. When PHA technology became widely available, everything shifted. Here was an exfoliating acid gentle enough to use every single day, on every single skin type — that also pulled water into the skin while it worked. It was the first real innovation in toners in decades.
